There are several ways to achieve impedance matching for active circuits in the sub-THz range (90-300 GHz). The most common methods are transformers (coupled inductors) or interconnect networks. In addition to these conventional approaches, coupled lines can also be used.

IIn this thesis, you will have the opportunity to develop D-band (110-170 GHz) amplifiers as integrated circuits for a modern SiGe BiCMOS process. Using these amplifiers, you can investigate impedance matching based on both conventional interconnect networks and couplers.
This thesis will provide you with an introduction to chip design, including the most popular tools for designing and simulating integrated circuits.
The thesis will also introduce you to chip design, including the most popular tools for designing and simulating integrated circuits.
