Dr. Mai Alissa
Mai Alissa received the bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering from Damascus University, Syria, in 2011. From 2011 to 2013, she worked as an access network planning engineer in Syriatel, a mobile operator.
Mai obtained her master’s degree (Hons.) in advanced optical technologies (Optics in Telecommunication) from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erlangen, Germany, in 2016. She joined the Institute of Digital Signal Processing (DSV) at the university of Duisburg Essen in 2017 as a research assistant, where she worked in several national and European projects, including Wireless 100 Gb/s and beyond, and COHERENT- Horizon 2020. Doctoral research interests include indoor channel simulation and measurements, and Terahertz in communications.
After completing her doctoral degree in 2024, Mai is back at FAU and joined prof. Noman Franchi’s team at the institute for Smart Electronics and Systems (LITES). Her research interest is 5G/ 6G research and standardization.
