    1980: Development of MP3<\/h3>\n\n

    Basic research in psychoacoustics and coding lead to the development of MP3. <\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n

    1984: Center for Microelectronics and Information Technology<\/h3>\n\n

    Prof. Dieter Seitzer founds the Center for Microelectronics and Information Technology GmbH, which is integrated into the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft as a working group in 1985. <\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n

    1990: Prof. Dieter Seitzer takes over the leadership of IIS<\/h3>\n\n

    2020: 50 years LTE<\/h3>\n\n

    The institute for electronics engineering celebrates its 50th anniversary. <\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n

  20. <\/div>

    2021: Foundation of the Chair of Electrical Smart City Systems (ESCS)<\/h3>\n\n

    The institute of Electrical Smart City Systems (ESCS) is founded at FAU and Prof. Dr. Norman Franchi is appointed as the first chair. A small team wins many large projects for the newly founded institute within the 6G initiative in Germany and Europe.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n

    2024: Establishment of LITES<\/h3>\n\n
