Intelligente Technische Elektronik und Systeme

 

Die Vision des Lehrstuhls ist es, verschiedene (Teil-)Systeme und Disziplinen gemeinschaftlich zu betrachten und neue Designansätze wie auch Methoden zur Optimierung zu erforschen, die es ermöglichen, elektrische Smart City Systeme im öffentlichen wie auch privatem Raum sicher, vertrauenswürdig, interoperabel wie auch benutzerfreundlich gestalten zu können.

 

Der Lehrstuhl befasst sich in Forschung und Lehre mit dem für die Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik zentralen Gebiet der Technischen Elektronik, also der hardware-orientierten Elektronik. Seine wissenschaftlichen Kompetenzen liegen auf dem Gebiet der System-und Schaltungstechnik, auf dem er einen großen Teil der Wertschöpfungskette abdeckt, angefangen von der Modellierung und dem Design von aktiven und passiven Bauelementen, Modulen und Packages über den Entwurf von monolithisch- und hybrid-integrierten RF/Analog/Mixed-Signal-Schaltungen und der Realisierung kompletter elektronischer Systeme bis hin zu deren Evaluierung im Labor sowie im Feld. Der Lehrstuhl verfügt über praktisch alle Designtools zur Simulation auf den Ebenen System, Schaltkreis und 3D-Feld (elektromagnetisch, mechanisch, thermisch und multiphysikalisch) sowie über hervorragend ausgestattete Messlabore im Frequenzbereich von DC bis 320 GHz. Im Bereich der Halbleitertechnologien kooperiert der Lehrstuhl eng mit weltweit führenden industriellen Partnern und Foundries, was ihm den Zugriff auf modernste More-Moore- und More-than-Moore-Technologien erlaubt. Die Technische Elektronik ist ubiquitär und wird heute in praktisch allen technischen Systemen eingesetzt. In diesem Sinne erforscht und entwickelt der Lehrstuhl Lösungen für vielfältige Anwendungen in der Informations-, Automobil-, Medizin- und Industrieelektronik, hauptsächlich für drahtlose oder drahtgebundene Kommunikations- und Sensoranwendungen. Dabei richtet er sein Augenmerk – und das ist eine besondere Kernkompetenz – auf die saubere Verknüpfung der jeweiligen Schnittstellen der Disziplinen Nachrichtentechnik, Hochfrequenztechnik und Mikroelektronik. Ein modernes Kommunikations- bzw. Sensorsystem lässt sich heute in effizienter Weise nur noch entwickeln, wenn die/der in Signalformen und Codes denkende Nachrichtentechniker*in mit der/dem mit Wellenformen und Impedanzen arbeitenden Hochfrequenztechniker*in und der/dem in einer Welt von Mikroampere und Nanostrukturen lebenden Mikroelektroniker*in sachgerecht diskutieren kann.
